Why does birth time need correcting? ▾

Solar time, not clock time. In BaZi the hour pillar, and the day pillar near midnight, follow where the Sun actually was. Clock time is set for a whole time zone, so at your birthplace the Sun may cross the meridian earlier or later than clock noon. We use the longitude of your birthplace to correct for that, and can also add the equation of time (from −14 min in February to +16 min in November).

Daylight saving time is taken from your browser’s time zone database for the birth date, so summer-time births are converted to standard time automatically.

Whichever basis you pick, the “Pillars under each time basis” panel shows every combination side by side. If they differ, choose the one closest to the time on your birth certificate.

Everything is calculated in your browser. Your details are never sent to a server; if “Remember” is on they are kept only in this browser’s storage. Privacy policy ·

About tarot

A tarot deck has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana for life’s big themes and 56 Minor Arcana in four suits — Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles — for everyday matters. Readers lay the cards in a spread and read each card by its position and whether it is upright or reversed.

How it works

Fate Hall shuffles the full deck and offers a one-card draw, a three-card spread (past, present and future), a choice spread for deciding between options, and the ten-card Celtic Cross. The card art is an original Fate Hall design, and you can also enter cards from a physical deck you own.

Reading it well

Begin with a clear, open question — "What should I keep in mind about…" works better than "Will I…". Look at the Major Arcana in your spread first, then at how the suits are balanced. The tarot card meanings guide lists every card upright and reversed, the Celtic Cross guide explains all ten positions, and the Fool’s journey reads the Major Arcana as one story.
